EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT OF TEMPLE CLOSURE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

Namaskaram,

In view of the acutely surging coronavirus cases in Los Angeles County and in the interest of the well-being of all the employees at the Temple and the devotees, we have made the decision that effective immediately, the Temple will remain closed until further notice.

The Temple will not offer any services in the Temple or will not be in a position to offer the services of the priests for offsite locations. This includes all programs excepts events related to spiritual rituals in connection with the death of any loved ones. We request you not to contact any priest directly and schedule any programs at your home or any other locations in or outside the Temple during this difficult time in our community. If you still call directly and arrange any program, you are doing it without the permission of the Temple and will bear all the consequences as a result of your decision. We owe it to each other and to our community to take care of ourselves. We kept the Temple open as long as it was possible under extraordinary circumstances, and we simply recognize that it is no longer tenable to do so. During this lockdown period, the Temple will fulfill all of its responsibilities in performing the daily rituals that are a part of our duty.
