The Malibu Hindu Temple is very happy to provide the first indoor service on Thursday, March 11, 2021 for Maha Shivarathri. As we proceed to have this traditional program at the Temple, I would like you to note that we continue to tread cautiously and find a path towards reopening the Temple progressively while ensuring compliance with state and county guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of the priests, employees, and devotees. We are able to accommodate only 50 devotees for each of the Kaala Sevas for Maha Shivarathri upon registering by paying $101, which is the regular fee that the Temple has charged in the past. We encourage devotees to sponsor the program for the whole day for a fee of $251 per family. We request you to follow the rules and cooperate with us to ensure implementation of the space limitation at the Temple and specifically at the Shiva complex and ensure 6 ft. distance between the devotees. All devotees must continue to wear a face mask and follow strict COVID-19 guidelines at all times while at Temple premises.
I would like to assure all of you that the Temple will begin reopening the sanctum sanctorum at the Venkateswara Temple and as well as the Shiva complex in the near future. The experience of Shivarathri and your cooperation will help expedite the reopening of in-person services albeit with caution and progressively. We are fully aware of the decision handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court, California High Court, and state and county guidelines for in-house worship.
We encourage devotees to participate in the Maha Shivarathri program and help us make it a success. As always, we are grateful to the priests, employees, and devotees for helping us during these challenging times.
