Malibu Hindu Temple Closure Update
I am sure that all of you have been waiting to hear this good news. The Temple will open its doors once again on Saturday, January 30, 2021 for outdoor services only. The Temple will continue to offer outdoor services only on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 AM to 5 PM. It will remain closed to the public during the weekdays from Monday to Friday.
We have taken this step after a great deal of deliberation. The virus is still around us, and it may resurface in the form of a different variant. The number of positive cases in Los Angeles County has stabilized, but at a very high level. Some of our devotees have received at least the first dose of the vaccine administered by Pfizer or Moderna.
With all of these developments, we are in a better place but still far from safe. We are not yet comfortable to offer the services of the priests for any programs outside of the Temple. However, the priests may meet some of your spiritual needs at the Temple premises on a case-by-case basis. To arrange this, you may contact me directly by calling or texting the Temple cell number at (818) 518-4287. You may also post your questions on the Temple website at www.malibuhindutemple.org. We will try to respond to you as quickly as circumstances permit.
The Temple will continue to remain closed for all services until it re-opens on Saturday, January 30, 2021. This means that the Temple will be closed on Friday, January 22nd, Saturday, January 23rd, and Sunday, January 24th.
We will also offer take-out dining services when the Temple re-opens. All devotees are required to wear a face mask and maintain 6 ft. physical distancing when visiting the Temple.
In view of the rapid changes in relation to the coronavirus, we will continue to make decisions in real time and on short notice. Therefore, prior to your visit to the Temple, please check our website for the latest schedule and announcements. We also request you not to depend on Google because this does not always reflect the most up-to-date schedule for the Temple.
Thank you for your patience, and please help us keep the Temple safe for the benefit of the priests, employees, and all of us. We will be ready to welcome you back to the Temple on Saturday, January 30th.
